Billie Eilish has been confirmed as the artist to provide the theme song for 25th James Bond movie No Time to Die.
The 18-year-old is the youngest artist to ever provide music for the epic 007 franchise.
The news was revealed on the 007 Twitter
The tweet read: “The #NoTimeToDie title song will be performed by @billieeilish . Billie has written the song with her brother @finneas and is the youngest artist in history to write and record a James Bond theme song.”
The announcement comes after Hans Zimmer has been confirmed as the new composer for the film.
The legendary composer has previously scored iconic films such as The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Inception, Thelma and Louis, and Dunkirk.
With the film’s official confirmation of Zimmer working on the 25th James Bond, its director Cary Joji Fukunaga commented: “I’m beyond excited that Hans is scoring No Time To Die. The music of Bond has always been iconic and I’ve already witnessed Hans adding his touch of genius to the Bond legacy.”
In a statement, producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli agreed with their director: “It’s a dream come true to be working with the legendary composer Hans Zimmer on our twenty- fifth James Bond film, No Time To Die.”
The new instalment to the James Bond film series will see Daniel Craig reprise the lead role for one final time.
The plot sees James Bond forced out of retirement when he receives a visit from CIA operative and old ally Felix Leiter ( Jeffrey Wright ), who needs help recovering a kidnapped scientist from a dangerous new foe with sinister plans.
However, Swann’s past could destroy James as he comes face to face with the dangerous Safin ( Rami Malek ).
The new film also stars Lashana Lynch as MI6 agent Nomi, Ben Whishaw as tech guru Q, Naomie Harris as Bond ally Eve Moneypenny, Ana de Armas as CIA agent Paloma, and Ralph Fiennes as the MI6 chief known as M.
Whatever happens, we can expect some epic music to accompany Craig in his final film as Bond.
