When going to a fancy ball, it’s likely that you’ll want to look your best.
For men, that might mean donning your sharpest tux and slicking your hair back, for women it could be that you slip on a stylish
Australian political reporter Fiona Willan did just this when she attended the Federal Parliament’s Midwinter Ball on Wednesday evening.
But the Channel 9 TV presenter suffered a hilarious wardrobe malfunction after getting ready for the event in a bit of a hurry.
Willan dressed for the ball in a white floor-length, one-shoulder gown by a designer named Toni Maticevski.
The journalist looked stunning in the dress, but upon closer inspection it soon became obvious that something wasn’t quite right about her look.
The dress featured an extra piece of material hanging on the right-hand side, which it was later discovered was meant to be a sleeve.
In a post on Twitter Willan confessed her blunder, revealing that she had forgotten to put her arm through the sleeve.
She wrote: “This is the bit where I need to confess that I forgot to put my arm through my sleeve! (With apologies to Toni Maticevski).”
Her colleagues over at Nine News poked fun at her during the breakfast show this morning, leading her to explain in a bit more detail what had really happened.
She said: “I got distracted while I was getting dressed and I didn’t put the sleeve on. But I didn’t notice until halfway through the night.”
She then joked that it proved the dress was great because it was “so versatile”.
