Man Utd legend sends transfer advice to wantaway Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba has been urged to concentrate on Manchester United amid talk of a move to Real Madrid

or Juventus – by club legend Bryan Robson.

United midfielder Pogba has been continually linked with a move this summer to either La Liga giants Real Madrid or Serie A champions Juventus.

The Red Devils have slapped a £150million price tag on Pogba and have publicly stated that the Frenchman will not leave, and there has even been talk of the 26-year-old being captain next season.

Pogba performed well when he played in a 2-0 win over Perth Glory for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side on Saturday.

And former United captain Robson , who won eight trophies during a 13-year spell at Old Trafford, has urged Pogba to ‘get your head down’.

“You’re a Manchester United player, you’re contracted to them so you have to give everything for the club, the team and the fans,” Robson told Sky Sports.

“There’s a lot of speculation in the media about Paul. He is a top player.

“Get your head down, do your pre-season as well as you can – which, from what I’ve seen in the training sessions, he has done – and if something happens and the club want it to happen, or nothing happens then you’ve got to get on with it.”

Pogba refused to discuss his future after the match against Perth Glory.

The midfielder simply told reporters: “There is no need. No need to talk.”

Robson believes United are going in the right direction under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, saying: “They know they’ve got to improve on last season. I was at the Player of the Year do right at the end of the season and you could see the disappointment in the players, that they knew they hadn’t achieved what they wanted to achieve.

“And we know that we’ve got to step up our game if we want to compete with Man City and Liverpool next year – and it all starts from here.

“We’ve made a couple of good young signings. Hopefully we can maybe get a few more players in, but in saying that you can only get the players in if the players are available and they’re as good as what the manager and coaching staff want in the club.

“But I think we’re going in the right direction.”
