Son Heung-min has detailed the “positive vibe” Jose Mourinho has brought to Tottenham
Former Manchester United manager Mourinho was appointed as Spurs boss two weeks ago – after the hugely popular Mauricio Pochettino was sacked after over five years at the helm.
Mourinho has halted Spurs’ average run of form, which had seen the side only win three times in the league, to win three fixtures out of three – beating Tottenham and Bournemouth in the Premier League and Olympiakos in the Champions League.
And Son has revealed how Mourinho has created a good atmosphere at the north London club with his smiles and jokes.
“He’s very kind. He’s smiling, making jokes with the players. I like it, of course. I think the results changed a lot, the positive vibe,” Son told FourFourTwo.
“Everyone is positive before games. The gaffer is doing a great job and we are really happy with him. The atmosphere changed a lot with the positive vibes.”
The South Korean international scored the first goal of the Mourinho era against West Ham , having also netted the last strike of Pochettino’s tenure.
And Son has explained his emotions about Pochettino being dismissed and how that has effected morale at the training ground.
“It was a sad week,” he said. “You don’t want to see your manager sacked. But we are professional enough. Three games, we won. The results are really positive.
“The lads, with positive energy, with smiling. I think this is the most important thing. I think this is what changed.
“He was at United for two years, I think. We just want to keep smiling after the game when we see the fans. We want to get the best result for him and for ourselves as well.”
